Viva Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides professional rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary to horses and animals in need. We rescue horses from severe abuse, neglect, and slaughter, giving the animals a second chance at life. Viva also works in California's natural disasters, bringing animals large and small, to safety.
Viva horse residents are given state of the art care. We not only provide our horses with food, water, and shelter, but so much more. Our horses are offered 30+ innovative holistic care modalities such as massage therapy, reiki, PEMF therapy, laser therapy, sound baths, live music, and more.

In every California natural disaster we jump into action! Our team has rescued approximately 800-1,200 animals from disasters in past years. We work in fires, earthquakes and mudslides to ensure the safety of all animals, large and small.

Maya has an extensive background in medical and behavioral issues in horses, training, and rehabilitation.

She also specializes in feral cat rescue, working in low-income communities with high feral cat populations. Kalli rescued her first kitten, Naomi who became Viva's other mascot, and opening the doors to Viva's cat rehabilitation programs.
