Animals coming from abuse, neglect, cruelty or slaughter-bound situations are able to find their forever home at The Viva Sanctuary. Viva is a safe haven, a home for all creatures from horses to parrots to disabled goats and more to live their best lives at. Residents at Viva receive state of the art care, amongst 30+ types of holistic therapies and rehabilitation techniques to best aid in their mental and physical healing. Massage therapy, red light therapy and music therapy are just a few of the many incredible holistic healing modalities used at Viva. The goal of the sanctuary is to provide exemplary individualized care to each animal as we assist them in their healing and rehabilitation. Viva doesn't just feed,water and shelter the sanctuary residents. Each animal is treated with the best of medical and supportive care, individualized enrichment, emotional, social programs and more in order to help them live their very best lives.
Your monthly or one-time annual donation can cover the cost of a resident of your choice. Sponsors receive weekly photos and updates of their sponsored resident, as well as the opportunity to meet with and form a lasting bond with your sponsored animal!

President and co-founder of Viva Rescue, Maya is an equine rescuer and rehabilitation specialist who started her work caring for hundreds of critically abused horses with serious medical, behavioral and trust issues. Maya rescued her first horse, Thunder, one of the Viva horses, who inspired her to rescue more horses. It soon became her life's work. Maya has an extensive background in medical and behavioral issues in horses, training, and rehabilitation.
Co-founder and rehabilitation specialist, Kalli began her work with neonatal kittens, caring for and treating infants and nursing them back to health. She also specialized in feral cat rescue, working in low-income communities with high feral cat populations. Kalli rescued her first kitten, Naomi who became Viva's other mascot, and opening the doors to Viva's cat rehabilitation programs.
